UK Farm Agro Resort is a working goat and sheep farm about 13 km outside Kluang, in the middle of Johor. Most Singapore families treat it as a full day out: roughly two hours on the road each way, then three to four hours at the farm for a guided tour, animal feeding, a goat-milk tasting and a couple of add-on activities. This guide covers how the tickets work, which extras are worth paying for, what to pack and how to fit in Kluang town on the same day.

Everything below was checked against the farm’s own website at time of writing. Farm activities depend on weather and staffing, so treat the details as a guide and confirm with UK Farm before you set off.

Tickets: how the farm tour works

A visit is built around the guided Farm Tour. You join a group with an in-house guide, move between the farm’s sections and finish with a tasting of goat’s milk from the farm’s own processing centre. The farm lists separate rates for Malaysians and international visitors, so Singapore passport holders pay the international price.

Child, 3–12 yearsRM35RM50

Prices are from the UK Farm website at time of writing and can change, so check before you go. A few rules worth knowing in advance:

  • Walk-ins are fine for small groups. The farm says groups of 20 or fewer can turn up without booking; larger groups must book ahead.
  • No outside food or drink. Pets are not allowed either. There is a restaurant on site for lunch.
  • Add-ons are paid separately and are subject to availability on the day.

What the tour covers

The farm describes the tour route as passing the feedstock processing factory, the goat pens and goat-milk processing centre, an area with ostriches, rabbits and deer, a Jakun village display and the fruit farm. Along the way children can feed goats and baby goats, ducks, chickens, ostriches and deer. The farm bills itself as Malaysia’s largest goat and sheep farm, and the open grazing land is a big part of the appeal for city kids who have only seen goats in a petting corner.

Activities worth adding

The farm’s tour page lists several optional extras. You don’t need all of them; pick one or two depending on your children’s ages and the weather.

  • Sheep Challenge. A three-minute game designed by the farm: teams of three try to catch sheep before time runs out, and winners get a small prize. Older kids and competitive parents love it.
  • Pony ride and horse feeding. Short and gentle, good for younger children.
  • Horse cart ride. Priced per cart for a small group, so it works well for a family of four.
  • Fruit plucking. Depends on what is in season in the orchard.
  • DIY activity. A hands-on craft session, handy if it rains.
  • Night tour. Only practical if you are staying overnight.

Staying overnight

If two hours each way feels like too much driving for one day, the farm has chalets styled after a Sarawak longhouse, raised on stilts with long shared corridors and air-conditioned rooms. A large dormitory is reserved for student groups. The farm’s Tour + Meal packages come in 2D1N and 3D2N versions; both include the farm tour, horse feeding, goat-milk tasting, the Sheep Challenge and a Kong Ming lantern activity, and the longer stay adds a night tour and DIY activities. Check-in is 2pm and check-out is noon. Weekends and Malaysian and Singapore school and public holidays count as peak season, so book early for those dates.

Durian season

The farm sells a durian buffet package when its orchard is producing. Fruiting seasons shift from year to year, so ask the farm whether it is running before you plan a trip around it. Note that durians are not allowed in the chalets.

The farm shop: goat’s milk and souvenirs

Most visitors leave with something from the farm shop. UK Farm sells fresh goat’s milk in several flavours, including original, chocolate and yogurt, plus goat-milk soap, lotion, body wash and shampoo. Fresh milk needs to stay cold, so pack a cooler bag and a couple of ice packs and leave them in the car while you tour.

If you plan to carry dairy or other food back into Singapore, check what is allowed first. Our guide to the Singapore customs allowance explains the rules and where to look them up.

Practical tips for a farm day with kids

  • Aim for the first tours. Tours start at 10am. Mornings are cooler and the animals are livelier than in the mid-afternoon heat.
  • Dress for mud. Covered shoes, a hat and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Pack a full change of clothes for each child for the ride home.
  • Bring wet wipes and hand sanitiser. The goats are enthusiastic eaters and little hands get sticky fast.
  • Use insect repellent, especially if you stay into the evening or book the night tour.
  • Carry ringgit. Add-ons and the farm shop are easier with cash on hand.
  • Watch the sky. Afternoon thunderstorms are common in Johor; plan the outdoor parts of the day for the morning.
  • Weekdays are quieter. Weekends and school holidays bring coach groups, so expect larger tour groups then.

A sample day

  1. Early morning: leave Singapore early so you clear the checkpoints before the main rush.
  2. Around 10am: join the first farm tour, then add the Sheep Challenge or a pony ride.
  3. Midday: lunch at the farm restaurant, then a stop at the farm shop.
  4. Early afternoon: drive about 20 minutes into Kluang town for coffee and a walk.
  5. Mid-afternoon: head home before the evening queues build at the border.

Pairing the farm with Kluang town

Kluang town is about 13 km from the farm and makes an easy second stop. Kluang Rail Coffee, the old-school coffee shop in the heritage building of Kluang’s railway station, is the town’s best-known stop for coffee and kaya toast; its hours vary, so check before you go. If your family likes walking, Gunung Lambak on the edge of town has forest trails and a recreational park at its foot, better done early in the day before the farm.

Getting there without the hassle

There is no simple public transport to the farm gate. Without a car, you would need a bus or train to Kluang and then a local taxi out along Jalan Batu Pahat, which is a lot of changes with tired children. A private car keeps it to one ride. With Luxway SGMY, your driver collects you from home anywhere in Singapore, everyone stays seated through immigration at both checkpoints, and the car goes straight to the farm entrance. Child seats are available on request for a small top-up (SGD 10 per seat).

Fares are per car, not per person, and already include tolls, checkpoint fees, fuel and parking. A Toyota Innova starts from SGD 190 one way, and the fare is the same in either direction. For a same-day trip, our hourly Day Trip Service (8, 10 or 12 hours) keeps the same car and driver with you for the farm and Kluang town. Staying overnight? Book a drop-off for day one and a pick-up for check-out day. Bigger groups can use a Toyota Hiace (up to 9 passengers with luggage) or an 18-seater van (up to 13).

Frequently Asked Questions

Is UK Farm Kluang suitable for toddlers?

Yes, with some planning. Toddlers enjoy the baby goats and feeding, but the open grounds get hot by late morning. Bring a light stroller or carrier, keep the visit short and plan a nap on the drive home.

Do we need to book the UK Farm tour in advance?

Not for a family visit. The farm says groups of 20 or fewer can walk in. Larger groups, overnight stays and the meal packages should be booked ahead, especially for weekends and school holidays.

Is UK Farm open every day?

The farm’s website lists daily tour hours of 10am to 5pm at time of writing, but other pages on the site show different office hours. Message or call the farm to confirm before a special trip, particularly on public holidays.

Can we visit UK Farm and Kluang town in one day from Singapore?

Yes. Do the farm in the morning, have lunch, then spend an hour or two in Kluang town before driving back. It makes a long but comfortable day if you leave early.

How much time should we spend at the farm?

Three to four hours covers the guided tour, one or two add-on activities, lunch and the farm shop without rushing small children.
